Lab puppies with their full round bellies. So sweet, so playful and they sleep for hours. They also grow so quickly.
I was lucky, Sophie, my first Lab is very quiet and laid back. I've heard unusual for a Labrador. Our second Lab Fergus, a Chocolate, has more energy and is my husband Roger's dog.
Three years ago I adopted one more. Sammy, then a 4 month old black Pup, came to live with us. He's intelligent, learns quickly is hyperactive and suffers from separation anxiety even if he see's me on the Agility field. He needs constant instruction and a lot of love and I love him dearly.
Unfortunately, I believe a lot of Labs are more like Sammy and are given up, or worse left on the side of the highway, have heartworm or broken bones.
I started working with Lab Rescue Organizations. A percentage of all sales go to:
Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida, www.labradorrescue.net
Heart of Texas Lab Rescue in Austin, Texas. www.hotlabrescue.org
Brookline Labrador Rescue in Warrington, Pa. www.brooklinelabrescue.org
Please go to these sites and see the remarkable work they do to save Labradors and find them forever homes. They are my heroes!!!
If you are a Rescue Organization and would like to be part of our fund raising please contact us at sophie@palm-spirit.com You will receive a disc of selected painted images that you may use for promotion material with the Artist mentioned, a painting of one of your hard to place Labs for an auction with full proceeds going to your organization and at the annual fund raiser a painting of the winners furkid.
It's all about The LABS!!!
